The Christow News was launched in April 2006 and has now published over 30 issues. To mark its first edition the Chairman of Christow Parish Council, Keith Orme, wrote an introduction which remains valid today reflecting Voltaire's quote “I totally disagree with what you say, but I shall defend with my last breath your right to say it”. The Christow News has offered its good citizens a platform from which to address the world, to make known their views, right and wrongs, sway the undecided, inform the ignorant, harangue the misguided, champion the downtrodden, or just send in the odd joke.
The Christow News will continue to live up to those good intentions and like all worthwhile enterprises those of us concerned with its production are looking for evolution; to widen its scope and to improve access to a greater range of information, news and views.
The launching of this website is another step towards that goal. While the regular monthly Christow News remains the primary vehicle for current information; the editorial team sometimes has to condense articles to fit the limited space that the budget will bear. There will be opportunities for items to be further expanded on occasion by reference to this website which will provide the possibility to provide additional coverage of items.
